Onumba.com, Nigeria ——- Cubana Chief Priest has finally agreed to carry out a public DNA test to settle the long running paternity issue between him and a Kenyan woman, Hellen Ati.
The issue, which has been ongoing since 2023, came up again after Hellen Ati appeared in an emotional video asking for help. In the video, she said she was tired of raising the child alone and revealed that the boy was sick. According to her, she had spent all her money on his treatment and could no longer continue alone.
She once again called on Cubana Chief Priest to accept responsibility if the child truly belonged to him.
The video quickly gained attention online and was later discussed on a national television programme. Following the discussion, many Nigerians went to the comment section of a media house’s Instagram page, asking Cubana Chief Priest to finally agree to a DNA test and end the controversy once and for all.
This time, his response was different.
In one of his replies, he wrote, “Make Una help me bring her and the child for una studio make I come there come do the DNA for una on live TV for free.”
Another Instagram user also advised him to end the matter, saying the issue had already affected both his image and his family. The user added that the DNA test should have been done long before the controversy grew this big.
Responding, Cubana Chief Priest maintained that he would not spend money on anyone making allegations against him online. According to him, if Hellen Ati wanted to prove her claims, she should bring the child to him.
In another comment, he wrote that he was not the one looking for a child, but that they were the ones looking for a father for the boy. He insisted that he would only agree to the DNA test if the child was brought to him.
The disagreement between both parties has lasted for about three years.
According to Hellen Ati, the child was conceived after a brief meeting with Cubana Chief Priest in Lagos in 2022. She has repeatedly claimed that she has struggled to raise the boy alone and has continued to call for a DNA test.
On the other hand, Cubana Chief Priest has continued to deny knowing her or fathering the child. According to him, the allegations were made to damage his marriage and public image.
Now that Cubana Chief Priest has publicly agreed to take the DNA test, many Nigerians believe the long running controversy may finally come to an end.
