On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Tonto Dikeh unveiled her new ministry, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), in Abuja. She describes it as an interdenominational altar, spiritual home, and movement for believers seeking revival, prayer, spiritual growth, and training.

And, of course…

Nigerians have started talking.

Because this is Tonto Dikeh.

People have known her for years as the controversial Nollywood actress, entertainer, philanthropist, and later politician. Now, suddenly, she is standing behind a pulpit and launching a prophetic ministry.

From the Christian world to the secular world, everyone seems to have a point of view on the situation, in ways that you should already expect.

A particular point of view worthy of note is that of Joy Edjeren, a former Nollywood actress who describes herself as a born again Christian. Since leaving Nollywood, she has continued to speak about what she describes as the presence of demonism in the Nollywood industry.

She described Tonto Dikeh’s salvation experience as a tactic to lure many people .

In her words, “Beware of her entire group of people, it is the same coven… I am not against genuine repentance, and I have shared with you all, the message that the Lord showed me on this particular case, and you know it. I know her followers will come after me, but the righteous knows the truth.”

She also ended by praying for Tonto Dikeh, that she would eventually come to true salvation.

Points of view similar to these have also come from many Nigerians.

But there is another group of Nigerians who believe that Tonto is simply an example of a life that God can save, regardless of her past.

And perhaps, this is where the real conversation begins.

Can a person genuinely change and start a completely different chapter of their life?

Or should people always be suspicious when someone with a controversial past suddenly finds God?
While the arguments continue, the ministry in question has already held its first service, where the altar was dedicated and many members were seen worshipping and basking in what they described as the presence of the Holy Spirit.

From Nollywood, to politics, and now the pulpit.

Tonto Dikeh has entered another chapter of her life.

And Nigerians, as usual, have already entered the comment section with her.
