Contributing WriterMr Obasi, Ex Husband of Judy Austin Yul Edochie, Shares His Side of the Story
Onumba.com, Nigeria ——-After Yul Edochie’s appearance on the The Honest Bunch Podcast a few weeks ago, many Nigerians went to the podcast’s official page asking that Mr Obasi, the ex husband of Judy Austin, be invited to tell his own side of the story. The podcast eventually granted the request.
The last time Yul Edochie appeared on the podcast, he was asked several questions about what really happened in his marriage to May Edochie and what led to his marriage to Judy Austin. However, he avoided most of the questions and only stated that many things happened within the marriage that eventually led to its end.
With Mr Obasi, Nigerians were more interested in knowing why Judy Austin was available for marriage to Yul Edochie in the first place.
Did she cheat while married?
Was she already involved with Yul while still living with her husband?
How did everything begin?
According to Mr Obasi, the story was deeper than many people expected.
He claimed that Judy Austin had admired Yul Edochie from the early days of their marriage, but he never took it seriously because he believed she was only a fan of his acting.
According to him, whenever they watched movies featuring Yul Edochie, she openly expressed admiration for him. In his words, she would often say, “I love this man. I love his voice. He reminds me of Uncle Chinedu.”
Mr Obasi said he ignored those comments at the time, not knowing they would later become a serious issue in their marriage.
According to him, he married Judy Austin when he was 28 years old, about a year after meeting her. While they were dating, he became aware of the poor financial condition of her family and decided to support her. He said he bought clothes for her, took care of many of her needs, and provided gadgets, including what he described as the latest phone available at the time.
He claimed that Judy later asked him to redirect some of that money toward her education, and he agreed.
According to him, he paid for her WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations. He also enrolled her in a computer school and continued supporting her education after they got married.
Mr Obasi further alleged that one day Judy told him that Yul Edochie had approached her and said she was wasting away in the marriage when she could become a successful actress like Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
He said Yul also offered to assist him financially, but he turned down the offer.
According to Mr Obasi, the next thing he experienced was that while he was away on a trip, Judy packed her belongings and moved to Enugu. She informed him that she was no longer interested in the marriage and later began a relationship with Yul Edochie.
Mr Obasi also claimed that Judy returned his bride price, remarried, and denied him access to their children.
According to him, he has not seen his children for about 12 years.
