Onumba.com,USA ——— We live in a body designer world, the kind of world where you get the body parts you want, but sometimes they come with the collateral consequences you didn’t ask for.
In that world of sheer vanity, that’s just the way the ball bounces.
For 43-year old British-Nigerian Influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, the ball did not bounce favorably. He died recently after undergoing a penis augmentation procedure in Thailand.
Most individuals seek this procedure because they want to feel more confident about their body and enhance their sexual encounters. Or their partners push them into it. But either way, sex experts remind us that great sex is about connection and technique, not the size of a man’s penis.
Ubiribo and his wife Danielle Simba Allen were vacationing in Thailand where the botched procedure was performed.
A Thai coroner said that the influencer died from a fatal pulmonary embolism, caused by a blood clot in the lungs involving the cosmetic procedure performed in a Thai clinic.
Soon after the procedure, according to wife Danielle, they proceeded to a massage clinic where Ubiribo felt uncomfortable after complaining of chest pain. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was quickly moved to the Intensive Care Unit for treatment.
But he died even before CT scan could be performed, and after CPR was carried out.
According to a UK postmortem, Ubiribo’s death could be tied to a load of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis back in March at an unnamed Thai clinic ——in the run up to the procedure that ultimately took his life.
Senseless tragedies like this have become an all-too common occurrence, most of it underscoring the perils of the vainglorious embrace of the European standard of beauty being superior.
In 2005, the wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Stella, died in Spain after a botched cosmetic surgery ——- tummy tuck and liposuction, to be precise.
The late crooner Michael Jackson is a pathetic case, though plastic surgery was not the primary cause of death for him. Jackson’s drastic physical transformation elevated skin-bleaching to a tragic peak of surreal manifestation and global bewilderment. It reached the epitome of absurdity, with the king of pop ending up looking whiter than an Idaho picket fence ——– his insanely chiseled nose threatening to dangle off his designer face.
In today’s world of customizable anatomy, it boils down to a simple, ruthless equation: swap out the parts you loathe for the upgrades you crave.
Don’t like your gender, change it.
Don’t care for your nose: get a new one.
Your skin color is draining your confidence finding a man: bleach the hell out of it.
You got a flat nyash: enhance it.
Don’t like your lips: get a pair of new ones.
Your stomach is flabby with ugly love handles: do a tummy tuck to flatten it.
Want a cute dimple: get one indented into your cheeks.
How about your chin: modify that, too.
And when you feel satisfied you have achieved the anatomy you want, please let the Almighty God know that his original design didn’t quite fit you, so you redesigned yourself.
